Heinz Tomato Ketchup

All the digital images of this campaign we got from their regional agency. Locally we had produced POS material and gave our client the brand activation support.

Our client was Brand Masters, who had marketing rights for Heinz, Craft Foods and Lindt Sprungli. They also had Oreo, so a lot of good work we did on Oreo as well.

Appeal for treatment help.
Public Service ad

That ad had been conceived 28 years back when Khawar was working for IAL Saatchi & Saatchi. It was printed in newspaper.

Aysha was 25, She was struck by the Guillian Barre Syndrome, a rare vital disease attacking the nerves. Got paralysed from neck down. If treated immediately it was totally reversible. Her friends thought to raise some money for her treatment.

Khawar was given to make an appeal ad. He made one, showing many flowers with long stem. But one stem was broken and treated, all this in a sketch form. Dingy yellow he used symbolises sickness. Cyma, Creative Head did the cool copy on factual based.

Gillette MACH 3 launch ad.

Imagine MACH 3, The First Triple-Blade Razor, had actually blown out of a newspaper. Imagine tiny pieces of ad scattered on editorial. This was the ad Khawar made when he was working for Evernew Concepts. Editorial content inside the ad was the paid part of the advertisement.

*

Phillips Energy Saver
newspaper ad

This ad was simply award winning. Confined copy, basic visual. If you notice, match stick reaching to its end. 'Resources are limited. If we don't conserve them, they'll run out'. So simple copy and hand drawn basic sketch of hand.

Khawar made it in IAL Saatshi & Saatchi. Did hand sketch, did the direction. Cyma, Chief Copy Head, did the copy.

Everything he touches

A very focused and tangible campaign designed for Gillette, a leader in men's skin care and shaving accessories, face washes, aftershaves and moisturizers. It was a comprehensive campaign focusing separate ads representing each category.

Cyma, the creative director came up with the idea of portraying the Gillette man as an ideal of both men and women. Manly and charismatic, he is physically fit, professionally successful, playful, focused, intense and above all, always in command. The entire print campaign focused on him being a part of different moods and surroundings.

Kitchens to fall for

Meeting the growing demands and aesthetic requirements in Kitchen interiors, one of our oldest client “Prestige Kitchens” recently developed a Gourmet Kitchen Catalog with exceptional, contemporary and modern kitchen designs.

As pioneers and importers of kitchen accessories from around the world, they are popular for both their domestic and professional kitchen ranges. To catalog their numerous designs, an extensive shoot was arranged with a number of mock kitchen sets constructed to show off their main features and aesthetic appeal. It was a very detailed and exacting job and it took months for the entire project to be completed.

Gillette press ad.
Half torn effect

When Khawar working for Evernew Concepts he received a copy 'Gellette Sensor Excel cuts the price to half. He came up with the idea to torn the ad in to two halves. It was logically so powerful and visually so appealing that all the stock finished in weeks time.

Glimpses Newsletter. Searle Quarterly Update

A headache we took for years. Newsletter is always hassle if client does not hire a separate editorial team, on the other end if agency does not have an exclusive team assigned for it. Both ends were not ready because of extra expenses it involves.

We give exclusive time to each page to look professional and aesthetically digestible. Designed masthead. Tariq Ismail photo was not perfect, so we shot a fresh one. We never compromise on work quality, we requested Marium, who normally made things easier for us, to keep a professional photographer with you on every event Searle do. But they never did it.

GO. The Gyne/OBS Magazine by GSK

GO. The Gyne/OBS Magazine by GSK

This quarterly magazine we used to design for GSK. Ahmad was the Art Director on it and did his work all alone smoothly.

This magazine was for Medical Professionals only. All the content Ahmad received usually comes late and then he used to finish it working late hours.

Dyspamet Suspension.
PDA, Prescribing Detail Aid

We remember, it was first assignment from GSK given to us. Erum Shakir, Creative Head was coordinating. Dyspamet was used for stomach burning relief in those days like OTC product. Copy said 'They always promise not to overeat again'. Inside was 'but they do'.

We shot a plate full of food layers, one on another, to showed gourmand ate like this could have stomach burning issues. Dyspamet is the best quick relief. Khurshid shot it and Khawar was on art and shoot direction.

Fawad Khan on Bonanza casuals. Magazine ad

Fawad Khan, model, actor and singer had been taken for Bonanza casual shirt. We need to make a print campaign for these new fabulously designed casuals shirts.

He did a comfortably brilliant shoot in Ather Shazad studio. Every shirt he wore looks punk on him. Khawar directed the shoot, Lamiya coordinated and Shazad did the photography. Campaign came out as superb and classy as Fawad was.

Craft white
new cream cheese.
Newspaper ad

All the images we got from Craft Regional Agency. Our assignment was to adopt every thing according to local requirements. We did POS, shop branding and brand activation. In a small bottle they claim, it has the goodness of 3 glasses of milk. Brand Masters was our client.

Overpowered by anxiety.
PDA, Prescribing Detail Aid

Can you imagine two entirely different states of one same girl? Yes. Beauty of this model was that she could transform from one state to another easily. She did justice on each end, Khurshid was the photographer. Khawar did shoot and art direction.

Overpowered by anxiety can make you that bad we came to know. Deep depression actually kills. This PDA is designed for GSK, one of their product Seroxat.

*

Energy blast. Centre Spread Magazine ad

Look at the spirit and emotions every individual had. This shoot was coordinated for Bonanza winter wear in Bangkok. There were 4 models, we shot them twice or more for this centre spread composition. Idea was a punk squad ready to kill you with their blasting energy.

Models being shot with different levels of camera height. The speciality of this shot was that every model charged up violently, and collectively they were in synergy, and expressing a big energy blast.

Fashion Explosion!

Lawn is a lightweight, favorite summer fabric for women, its popularity increasing phenomenally during the last few years. Serenly beautiful and sensous, super model Rabiya is what every woman wants to be. Just the look desired for the launch of Bonanza’s latest addition to its apparel range. An explosion in the form of “ Satrangi” a truly fabulous lawn collection in vibrant, beautifully designed prints conquered all. It was an awesome shoot, more so since it was a challenge to shoot a new product line. But wer’e no strangers to change. Infact we welcome it.

*

Love’s Magic and Misery!

An idealistic image from one of the more creative Bonanza campaigns, the feel and expression unexplainable. The contrasting, complex facet of the two models, divided by all apparently, yet connected by a magnetism that surpasses all worlds. The connection is clearly visible in their intimate body language even while sitting apart. A connection that defies and challenges. Magnificent light by senior photographer Khursheed Masud. A fantastic blend of mystery and devotion. It was one of the best and most talked about images in the fashion scene that year.

Prideful legacy

Our client Prestige Kitchen established in1968 has been making state of the art kitchens for the last 56 years. As it is a family concern, Prestige is more passionate than most and personally committed to deliver quality assurance. They are renowned for both their Professional and Domestic Kitchens.

We designed this illustration based print ad to convey the Chefís pride in his art as well as his Kitchen. The kitchen looks elaborate yet artistic. We also designed a domestic kitchen ad on the same lines as both ads are part of the same campaign.

Public Service Campaign
by GSK. Against Flu

We took these sketches from TVC frames for print. This newspaper ad was a part of GSK Public Service Campaign against Flu Virus awareness on TV. 'Don't let flu get to you'. 'Get Vaccinated' was the message.

Ahmad did all character development in house by his own. This small campaign went popular and had top of mind recall value. Wherever we put this ad, it was yelling the message.

Bonanza Shirts. Print ad

Bonanza literary had 100's of shirt we saw first time and amazed. Humaira wrote this copy in initial days when we got this client to work on. 50 shirts were actually being shot while this ad was developed.

Look at every shirt we shot, immaculate. No crease no wrinkle. It took lot of time to produce this perfect ad. The beautiful line 'Your wardrobe is about to get more elaborate than your wife's' is wonderful.

Monster waves

It was fun shooting at Pattaya with Hungarian model Andrew on the sailboat. The collection was T-shirts and Polos, a vibrant new summer arrival for the coming season. It had been stuck for some time in our minds that we should do a fashion shoot at the sailboat and it happened just as we had dreamed. The skies were clear and the models great looking hunks. The exotic blue sea completed the picture. The experience was topped by the heavy tides that day, turning it into an adventure. Lek, our producer however was rock solid and accommodating. It would be unfair not to give her credit for the success of this tidy shoot.

Famous friends

Back in 1993, when we were infants ourselves, GSK and Nestle Pakistan were our first Clients ever. We managed a number of sales activities, promotions, merchandising and trade marketing assignments for them. Therefore we have a special emotional attachment and bonding with these giant multinational concerns.

Lucky to have worked on almost every Nestle brand launch particularly, we have also managed their Annual Sales Conference for three consecutive years. The planning started months in advance with the theme logo, song and video being highlights.

ICL Brochure desinged by Khawar Salim

Perfect chemistry. ICL. Company brochure

Company brochure development was always a serious assignment. Client normally gives us rough text in the form of a story and an invitation to come their crap factory for shoot. But this time factory was clean and maintained much better.

We developed text content, did the shoot at the factory, shot marketing office, made the page layout, designed the cover and give them the perfect colour dummy for the approval. Great Ikram sb was the photographer.

Then after approval we had given the brochure in printing. Ittehad Chemicals, perfect chemistry for progress was tagline we suggested. This job went as smooth as we planned.

UCI Brochure desinged by Khawar Salim

Magnasoft. UCI. Company brochure

We had many chances to make company brochures. Magnasoft is one of them, a textile softener brochure. They make the finest and most reliable range of silicone softeners.

The speciality of this brochure was we searched Ostrich feather from the Zoo to show the extreme softness. The feather was so fluffy and shiny, we put it over Satin while taking a shot. This image came out as cover shot.

It involved content writing, fabric related shoot, factory shoot, page layout and great cover shoot with Ostrich Feather. On request our colleague Shahmin had appear on a shot 'feeling cloth softness'.

Atif's first crush: No one knows

Atif Aslam is a Pakistani singer-songwriter and actor. He has recorded numerous chart-topping songs and is known for his vocal belting technique. We engaged him as celebrity star actor in 2005: when he was not that big, for a Sony Ericsson cell phone K700i advertising campaign.

The story moves around Atif’s likeness for a girl and how he smartly uses K700i features help him convince his reluctant mother. It was a full 360 degree campaign including Print, TV, Outdoors, POS and Shop branding.

Style-statement of the young executives

Work wear for young executives for up coming Summer Campaign was the assignment. Light color shirts, a little funky casual and semi casual was the wardrobe.

We shoot in doors, work environment, models using hi-tech gadgetry. Shoot done for print and POS materials.

Meet Ivelina and Robin

You can never plan a candid shot. And its a blessing when it turns out as brilliant as this one did. Both the Client and ourselves are particularly happy with the look, feel and energy of this fun filled campaign.

Bulgarian model Ivelina Cheeva and French talent Robin were both amazing. True professionals with a natural chemistry, they gave a variety of expressions as required by us without any conscious effort.

Bukhari deep into details

Notice the Bounty Ice cream Scoop on the container from MasterFoods France and then compare with this masterpiece shot by Ikram Bukhari, our local genius photographer. This ice cream shoot was arranged to use for promotion of imported ice brands in Pakistan. The Client was amazed and extremely happy with the out come results. It takes very specialized skill to shoot ice cream. Its a tricky job.

Bukhari specializes in food photography and known for his super detailing. He is probably the senior most guy in this field and definitely the most humble and polite person on the face of this earth. He is a food stylist himself. Sometimes he cooks, styles and shoots it all. What a talent! We shot all five ice cream containers, Mars, Snickers, Twix, M&M and Bounty.

GSK fights for chickenpox

Working with kids is always a pleasure. Especially one as cute and naughty as this little girl surely was. The image is taken for a Detail Aid for Varilrix, a vaccine for chickenpox. “Your daughter is a reflection of yourself” the theme is beautifully depicted in this young pretty lady wrapping herself in her mom’s dupatta and applying her makeup in front of the mirror.

Our Creative guy Ahmed tries to convey the importance of having oneself and our families vaccinated against chickenpox to avoid the pain and trauma of this illness especially as it may effect your entire family.

Baby Bottles

Product and Industrial photography are vastly different from the fashion scene. As is their advertising, promotion or other marketing activity. These pretty, colored and transparent small bottle like products are actually preforms that are blown into bottle shapes of different styles, shapes and colors as per customer demand.

This shot is one of many images we photographed for the company brochure of a market leading company GatroNova. Widely acknowledged and preferred by major CSD and Mineral Water brands in the world, the company is main supplier to both the Pepsi Company and Coke Pakistan. As the company also deals with APET Sheet extrusion and thermoforming it has also ventured and is supplying to many pharmaceuticals.

Toxic Ivelina Cheeva

As exotic as her name, Ivelina Cheeva was from Bulgaria, a central European country. Tall, fair and photogenic, her beauty was as rich and intoxicating as red wine. To top it off, she was brainy. What more could one ask for in a professional model. As is very rare, all our models in this campaign had Superstar look and were enthusiastic workaholics.

Photographer Pittaya Nontapaoraya, an experienced, soft spoken guy was satisfied and enjoyed the shoot as well, even though it was long and tiring.

Spring blssoms

Spring is like a colorful palette that brings out the beauty in nature. Urva was the model and glorious flowery prints were the couture collection by Bonanza. This is a most familiar style of photography for us as we conduct it several times a year, but the inventive latest collection and the fresh beauty of the models keep these shoots from getting mundane. It always keeps us full of energy.

Greenwich Alumni Star of the week. Newspaper ad series

This was one of popular ad series used to print weekly in Dawn Newspaper. Shoaib Shamsi, Dean of Marketing there conceived this idea and the purpose was to strengthen Greenwich University's image. It was a powerful campaign, because most Alumni was engaged on good positions in reputable companies.

Students feel envy when ad got printed and Alumni started talking who will be the next. So it was talk of the town, people still remember it.

Couragraphed intelligence

Natasha and Justin. One from Brazil and one from Canada. Both rigorous performers. They enjoy the shoot themselves and perform outclass.

Couragraphed TV Commercial wins everyone's heart. We believe in work that inspires, people add color to our work and gone, we are still getting benefited out of it. That is the spirit to be loved.

Food grade packaging. Krystalite. Company brochure

Krystalite is pioneer in manufacturing practically economical and globally acknowledged 100% food grade packaging materials. Their PET and thermoformed sheet are used in disposable food packaging materials all over the country.

We shot food, sweets, fruits, vegetables and bakery items in PET containers. Develop text, and arrange all product information with relevant products in front for export purposes.

Toughest fabric for longest wear

Designed a label for fine quality Magnet Jeans. Bonanza has done tones of experiments during last decade, and this was one of them.

This is again old retro style, goes well with stuff like jeans. We never like Bonanza font, it does not go with anything, this could be a reason they people like it very much.

*

Virgin Bellini in the pool

Handsome and toned models look cool in every clothing style. As this shoot was actually at the pool, in the cool blue waters with models sipping chilled Virgin Bellini, the summer statement and mood is hard to pass by. The campaign generated a fantastic push in sales as well, so much that the stock was actually in short supply for a few days.

Rowing and more

Sometimes when things are working smoothly, we go out of our way to make them difficult. The Bonanza Summer Catalog shoot is a perfect example.

We were required to shoot an entire range that included shirts, T-shirts, Polos, Shorts, Casual Trousers, Suiting’s and Women Wear. From rowing at the Boat Club to Bar-BQ at the farmhouse to shots at the Polo Club, we shot at 5 different locations. Maybe we assumed next summer might will not happen! I mean, did we leave any good location to shoot next season?

Bangkok: A Michael Angelo model!

Andrij is Greek, with sharp chiseled features and could have modelled for Michael Angelo himself! Its as if Eros, the god of love has decided to visit the new era, attired in elegant high- end fashion suiting by Bonanza. The moment is superbly captured, the cut light emphasising the carved arrogant lines of his face. The shoot was against modern structures and buildings in Thailand, complementing the new day grandeur of the formal collection.

Fun to build. Corporate ad.
Prestige Grey

This corporate ad was designed in Creative Workshop for Prestige Grey. Prestige's Creative Head, Ammad crafted this brilliant copy and did justice with this thought.

Lego symbolises for construction toys, and we constructed a Lego Worker for our ad, to explain we are like him, a worker to build brands.

Diamond granules. Polystyrene. Company brochure

Pak Petrochemicals has super quality congenial work environment and they produces world best polystyrene with the help of hypersensitive, the most advanced technology systems. They claim their scrutiny goes to the level of every single molecule of the polystyrene they produced.

Khawar claimed he had never seen such immaculate plant in his life while shooting. Shahzad was the content writer, Khawar did the shoot direction and layout. Great Ikram Bukhari did the photography.

Ultimate pleasure.
Dzire print campaign.

In our society you can not talk much about sex or contraception openly. Keeping in mind the restrictions in advertising and media communication, we find our way in a subtle manner.

Tap into your wild side, wisely: was the idea. We saying all without saying much. Gingerbread cookies was the intelligent tool in-spite of using human images. And one cookie upside down on the second symbolising intimate moments. Copy did by Shahmin, Khawar did the art direction. Client was Parazelsus.

Shooting summer at Pattaya

This was a western range of women casual wear, funky lowers and flowery light tops. Our client was getting ready for their summer collection.

We took some English models from Bangkok and shoot them on Pattaya beach. Because shooting here in Pakistan repeatedly on same models on the same locations get stale at times.

Hat trick with Nestle

Nestle: the world's leading nutrition, health and wellness company has graced the top of our client list for many years. Our most valued and profound memories are however of being sole in charge of conceiving, organizing and handling their Annual Sales Conferences for 3 consecutive years.

It was more special to us as our core business then was basically concept and design. This trust was a big honor for us as the sales team included over 300 members each year, for us, these years were as pure gold as this shiny medal.

Our project included a long list of responsibilities on both the creative and production end. We designed the yearís theme, slogan, motivational songs, certificates, backdrops to entertainment skits, venue branding and lots of other support. They were 3 days full of fun and activities for the Nestle team. The 4th day of course was ours, CW treat day.

Workshop's first client

First ever assignment came to us was from GSK. We remember a detail-aid of Dyspamet on over eating. We have always preferred FMCGís and fashion based clients but GSK is one pharmaceutical client we have been serving since our birth. We have worked on almost all GSK Pakistan products so far.

The company produces the leading pharmaceutical brands which include Augmentin, Seretide, Amoxil, Velosef, Zantac and Calpol and renowned consumer healthcare brands, which include Panadol, Horlicks, Aquafresh, Macleans and ENO.

The name speaks for itself. The Experts In Responsible Investment Solutions (EIRIS) report awarded GSK the top 'A' rating, thus placing it on fourth rank in recognition for the healthcare products and services the company offers.

Winter storm

A power packed commercial, it provoked, welcomed, defied and challenged the elements. The arrogant expressions of both models complemented the aura of the ad. This image is taken from a still shots of the same campaign captured by Khurshid Masood.

by Khawar Salim
The director resurrected and sizzled the fashion scene with this hot campaign. He aimed for and scored, transforming the beautiful and sweet natured Rabiya into a fiery blend of an ice queen and the lorelei. She’s surely a sight to warm three winters!

Top model: Heating up a Wild Winter!

Few winters back, a highly glamorous and seductive TV and Print campaign was launched with one of the top models of the year, Rabiya. It was a mega shoot with 4 models and almost eighty men and women outfits. This particular shot was executed with the help of heavy blowers that lent it wildness and mystery, a dangerous combination! The shot was talk of the town the entire time the campaign ran, especially as the trend leaned towards more conservative marketing.

The TV commercial was filmed in the scenic and most beautiful mountainous northern areas of Pakistan, almost 11,000 feet above sea level. The temperature was freezing, the travel tiring. By the end of the 2 day shoot, we were ready to weep. The raving reviews later made it worth it all.

CREATIVE WORKSHOP

When there was no balls of such ventures here in Pakistan, we opened up this
first ever HotShop in 1993, almost 25 years back.
